A BRADFORD school has been nominated for a national award for its work on a number of green schemes. St Stephen s C of E Primary School has been shortlisted for the community award at this year’s Education Business Awards for its work on environmental issues around the site. The awards ceremony will be held online on Thursday, July 8. Over the last three years the school has worked alongside groups including Born in Bradford (BIB) to help improve its environmental understanding and find ways to protect its pupils from air pollution and contracting conditions such as asthma. BIB visited the Gaythorne Road school last month to discuss the impact poor air can have on everybody s health.
Haberdashers schools have given laptops and Internet equipment to schools in the community Several schools have received deliveries of equipment designed to help boost access to home-learning. Independent schools Haberdashers’ Aske’s School for Girls and The Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School in Elstree have been busy delivering bundles of new laptops and dongles with pre-loaded internet to schools in the community this week. The initiative has been created by both schools in a bid to support the rising numbers of families struggling to access learning at home, due to poor internet connectivity and lack of devices. Among the schools currently receiving the equipment are Cowley Hill Primary in Borehamwood, Fairfield Junior School and St John s St Infants School in Radlett, How Wood Primary School, Bournehall Primary School in Bushey, and the London Academy in Edgware.
