(Pending Legislation): Senate Bill No. 405 would prohibit the state from mandating a vaccine that has only been given emergency use authorization from the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Bill was referred to the Joint Committee on Public Health on January 26, 2021. House Bill No. 5401 would prohibit the state or any employee of the state from mandating COVID-19 vaccination. Similarly, House Bill No. 5402 would prohibit employers and public officials from requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Both Bills were referred to the Joint Committee on Public Health on January 22, 2021. With regards to exemptions from mandatory vaccinations for school-aged children and college students, two varied pieces of legislation have been introduced.
