Centino made this pledge during his visit to the unit's headquarters in Fort Magsaysay, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija where he was the guest-of-honor and speaker at the joint opening ceremony for the equipment transition training for the Bolkow BO-105 helicopter, the rotary wing transition course, and the aviator qualification course. Jose Faustino Jr., on Friday urged all members of the military to join the Metrobank Foundation Inc.'s (MBFI) Search for Outstanding Filipinos. "As the Chief-of-Staff, I urge all the members of the AFP to join the Metrobank Foundation in the search for the recipients of this award for 2022. Let us take pride in our fellow soldiers and nominate who we think are most laudable," Faustino said in a statement. Since 1985, the Metrobank Foundation has honored a total of 685 Outstanding Filipinos 372 teachers, 163 soldiers, and 150 police officers. Eligible to join in the search are soldiers, police officers, and teachers who have a minimum of 10 years of service with at least "very satisfactory" rating in the last decade. "These gentlemen have consistently exemplified professionalism and excellence in their duties as leaders of their respective units and offices, which rightfully earned them their promotions," Faustino said in a statement. Promoted to Major General was AFP Deputy Chief-of-Staff for Financial Management (DCS FMO, J-10), Brig. Gen. Rolando E. Nerona. As the DCS FMO, Nerona facilitated the efficient and prompt appropriation and management of fiscal resources intended for the AFP and its subordinate units. Also promoted to Major General was Brig.
