An arion, iowa man has been sentenced to five years in prison for shooting a man in mapleton. 23yearold joshua beam pleaded guilty in september to reckless use of a firearm. In prosecutors dropped four other charges against beam. On december 16th, 2014 Authorities Say beam and eric franco were drinking at a house in mapleton. They say the men began to wrestle and choke one another when beam got angry. Thats when they say beam shot franco in the head with a 44 magnum. Franco was treated for non life threatening injuries.
