A lifelong swimming enthusiast from Bolton is officially coaching the British GB Para Swimming Team at the Tokyo Olympics. David Evitts, a two-time Olympic swimming coach will be joining the team of athletes heading to Tokyo in August. Originally from Worsley and now based in Turton has had a career of almost 30 years of coaching since leaving the Police as a constable, and has coached at the Sydney and Rio Olympics in 1996 and 2016 respectively. He also journeyed to Kuala Lumpur for the 1998 Commonwealth Games. We ve got a great team and they re all working very hard, they ve been brilliant, he said.
