EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - On Thursday, Evansville Day School sophomore Tyler Myers was crowned the yearâs final recipient for Hoops Live Player of the Week, obtaining a season-record 32,718 votes.
Myers led the Eagles to the Class 1A sectional title last weekend, posting 33 points in the

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - On Wednesday, Verbal Commits reported on Twitter that University of Evansville sophomore Samari Curtis has entered the transfer portal.
His departure marks the second time in his collegiate career that he’s left a program, initially transferring to UE from Nebraska. Curtis appeared in just eight games as a freshman for the Huskers.
The 2019 Ohio Mr. Basketball appeared in 17 games for the Purple Aces during the 2020-21 regular season.

Before making the trek to Evansville, Belmont head coach Casey Alexander spoke with the media regarding the differences in this yearâs tournament.
âOnce we get there, thereâs no off-site practice, thereâs no on-site practice, we get 30 minutes on Thursday morning if we win Wednesdayâs game, but other then that - itâs just the games,â Alexander said.

USI head coach Stan Gouard is building a strong foundation for the future.
Last week, Gouard received a verbal commitment from Castle guard Isaiah Swope.
Swope says he’s looking forward to the opportunity of playing close to his hometown.
