When federal and state governments started enrolling pharmacies to administer the COVID-19 vaccine, Trig’s jumped on board.
Jeff Suppon, Trig’s director of pharmacy, estimates Trig’s has vaccinated about 1,000 residents in long-term care facilities over the past month.
But when the state of Wisconsin announced it would move on to phase 1B of the COVID-19 vaccination rollout, Trig’s was caught off-guard.
“We didn’t know those groups were going to be included as soon as they were,” Suppon said.
As soon as people learned about the possibility of getting vaccinated in phase 1B, they started calling Trig’s.

EAST LIVERPOOL â David Hudoba describes the route to his new job as pharmacy manager with the Community Action Agency of Columbiana Countyâs East Liverpool Pharmacy as a unique one.
Hudoba, a Canfield native, began in the position in October and worked to ready the new pharmacy for its opening on Jan. 19 in the Health, Behavioral Health and Dental Center, East Liverpool Campus Building 1, at 16480 St. Clair Ave.
âI interned in Mahoning County, and of course, thatâs where I grew up, so itâs been a unique path getting to this spot now,â Hudoba said, noting he had no idea his first official job would be opening a completely new pharmacy in the neighboring county to the south and working so close to his family roots. âOnce I started working with patients in the internship, I actually really loved working in this business. Itâs so rewarding to work with people who sometimes have nowhere else to go to get their prescriptions ⦠t
The Walworth County Division of Public Health has launched an online registration form to help distribute COVID-19 vaccines to people age 65 and older who do not have consistent health care providers.
Meanwhile, Rock County Public Health Department officials say they have not yet finalized plans to address gaps in access to vaccines for people of that age group.
In coming weeks, people age 65 and older who have primary care doctors or affiliation with a health care provider should receive correspondence from the provider about scheduling vaccination appointments, according to officials from both counties.
Most people in that age group will receive vaccines from health care providers, said Jessica Turner, a Rock County health department spokeswoman.
