As the go-to chauffer for visiting notables and glitterati from Washington, D.C. and New York City, he quickly discovered that he needed a spot where he could work on his vehicles. So he opened a little gas station at the corner of Rehoboth and Lake avenues. Back in the day, that was one of five gas stations that graced downtown Rehoboth Beach.

North Jersey restaurants that are temporarily closed due to COVID

NorthJersey.com Many North Jersey restaurants have temporarily closed, hoping to save money on operating fees without shuttering for good. This pause in service is a middle ground based on necessity. In New Jersey, restaurants can serve at 25% capacity indoors. The weather has prevented many customers from dining outside, and rising COVID-19 cases have encouraged others to simply cook at home instead of ordering or dining out. Restaurants are dealing with crushing losses in revenue. The cost of operating a restaurant payroll, buying ingredients, utility bills outweighs the meager dollars coming in from the few customers placing orders, many restaurant owners say.

NJ restaurants that closed in 2020 due to COVID pandemic

NorthJersey.com It s sad when restaurants close. Thanks to the worldwide pandemic, this has been a profoundly sad year for the hard-hit restaurant industry. According to the New Jersey Restaurant & Hospitality Association, at least 8% of restaurants have closed this year due to the pandemic. It expects another 42% to close. The following is a list of restaurants that were felled by COVID-19. They run the gamut from small, casual joints to expansive, full-service emporiums, from independently owned restaurants to chains, from barely opened spots to longtime stalwarts. COVID-19 has proven to be an equal-opportunity destroyer. We bid these restaurants adieu. We also included a list of restaurants that have closed temporarily. We hope to see their doors wide open again, soon.
