Host any thoughts . Guest i say this is easily resolved. I think the one thing to be careful of is the difference between sort of partisan decisions and ones that come from different judicial philosophies or ideologies, when you think partisan, you think im going to vote as any republican or democrat would do. I believe that there are a lot of cases at the Supreme Court and we can point to numerous examples that do not follow that traditional breakdown between party lines. And i think a good sample would be coming this term about recess appointments. Here is an issue that will affect whoever the sitting president has come at a sitting president is not currently a democrat. But of course in a future election and maybe the republicans that win an election, therefore the decision that they announce it in the court will be a rule about the perspective power to make these recess appointments regardless of the party of the presidency. What you will see in that decision is the core grappling
Right or the privilege or the ability to ask for an extension and a raising of our debt when, in fact, we havent acted responsibly with our spending . Nobody else in the country gets their credit raised when you havent acted responsibly. They actually check your credit score. They know what kind of bills youre paying, whether youre getting further behind. So should we in fact tear up the credit card. Should we force some good old adult supervision on congress, to where well actually be forced to make difficult decisions about priorities on how we spend americas money, and when i mean americas money, im thinking people working hard every day, they may not be the highest taxpayer, but it is unconscionable to me that when we spend their money, that were wasting 15 to 20 of it all the time. So i think we ought to tear it up. And the way we tear it up, we just tear it up. We tear the credit card up. We shred the credit card and we say youre going to live within your means. Youre going to st

Mr. Cardin i ask unanimous consent the floor privileges be granted to elise medical mellinger for the dwraition of Senate Consideration of h. R. 3304, the National Defense authorization act. The presiding officer without objection. Mr. Cardin let me first comment about the National Defense authorization act. It is an important bill for us to pass and i thank senator levin and senator inhofe for the manner on which they worked on this legislation, bringing it together, in the committee it was a bipartisan bill, as it came to the floor it maintained that focus on helping our troops and helping preserve our National Security. And as we are starting to consider amendments, i think that same cooperation was there there. Powerful we lost track unfortunately we lost course, but the bill before us represents

I would not say that they were nasty. They tell you how much bush 41 was more engaged, dropping by the Briefing Room from time to time or seeing them in a casual kind of setting. And carter would do all of these things. And that was not the case with clinton, but the very first airforce one trip i took with clinton, he came to the back and was telling these southern eight stories in a funny voice, imitating royal folks. And you cant imagine that today. Obama does come back, but even then it is very, some lecturing. So i think that what we miss, though, to give him credit, he does more interviews than his predecessors, has less to predecessors. [inaudible conversations] [laughter] i am not getting these interviews. I am saying, give him credit for at least doing this. What he is not doing in the bread and butter of what the correspondence do is where you take a day in and the. [roll call] are two questions, how about this, that is where you hear the president day and day out about the m
