Just saw pull in, thats the 39 bus. Usually that bus is about a block away from here, but now the bus is on this side, and people have to come out here to guest on and off the bus. People on orange line, because thats caused a huge headache, the orange line shut down, people taking the orange line to get home, they have to go over here, out into Copley Square and thats where theyre being loaded on to shuttle buses, the redline is also impacted by this. Some good news, the commuter from south station, theyre back up and operating, but you know, what a situation to happen right during rush hour in the heart of boston, an orange line train, the engine overheats, smoke pours in to where all of the passengers are and those passengers panic, i guess it the best way to describe it, break through windows, and get out. Reopened. As you see there are fans here clearing out what remains of the smoke. The fire broke out on an orange line at back bay station. The fire was in the motor but Fire Fighters also tell us trash on the third rail which is electrified was ignited. Passengers began breaking doors and windows as you see here. The mbta says the doors didnt the train was away from the platform which prevented those doors from opening. A pastry chef was among 5 people treated for smoke inhalation. She describes how she used a knife to break a window. I took my scarf. This is my 8 inch chef knife and thats not a pastry knife. Thats a chef knife. I did this. Im a certified black belt.
