The monsoon session of Parliament will commence on July 17, the day voting for the presidential election will take place.
The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) has recommended holding the session from July 17 to August 11, according to sources in the committee.
The CCPA meeting, chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, was held last evening after NDA presidential nominee Ram Nath Kovind filed his nomination papers.

Security forces were on high alert and internet services remained suspended, though no incidents of violence were reported in Darjeeling hills till 9.30 AM on Monday. “The situation is still very tense. Since morning there has been no incident of violence but we are on high alert and prepared for any eventuality,” a senior police official said.

Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, National Spokesperson BJP & Political Advisor reported that, Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday suffered a fracture in his left leg. Sixty-five-year-old Singh twisted his ankle during morning walk at his official residence, he told PTI. The BJP leader was taken to the AIIMS where his leg was plastered, he said.
On February 15, just a day after the Pulwama attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at two separate events that the security forces have been given full freedom to choose a time and place for the future course of action .
