You can see the showers thats been stretching across philadelphia right now, that is light rain. And its a little bit steadier and coming down just a bit heavier in a few neighborhoods in the Lehigh Valley. The fog first thing this morning. Thick fog, well not yet for allentown. A mile and a quarter contributing. Thats considered light fog. No sign of cold air. Were in the 50s right now, and thats where were going to stay for most of it day today. 57 in philadelphia, a rainy day for new jersey, the Lehigh Valley and delaware, too. Neighborhood. Reporter yeah. The alert for accumulating snow, only for the pennsylvania suburbs. Lehigh valley and burks county. Areas north and west of the i95 corridor. 6 00 p. M. Tonight through 5 00 a. M. Tomorrow is the alert. It happens in the overnight hours. As were hopefully indoors. 3 to 6 inches of heavy, wet snow. Its going to be a slippery travel day for anybody moving overnight because of the fact that roadways today are going to be a little above freezing. It starts out with the marginal conditions. On top of that, wet snow. It makes for a sloppier forecast in the zones. Radar and satellite, nothing going on over us right now. But down to our southwest, that nice little system is going to quickly skirt our direction. And as it moves over it, it combines with cold air from the north. Those two making for the snow rain split. I think the split will come right about here. Thats why the i95 corridor is not under a first alert but will see slippery conditions. Temperatures wi
Who is tracking is snow. The obvious question is what exactly are we expecting . Its a little different depending on what neighborhood. We put the first alert in effect for accumulating snow over parts of the pennsylvania suburbs through the lehigh and burke count. Ill tell you what. The main event really hits in the overnight hours. As long as you dont have a big date night plan, youll probably be fined. If you have plans early on saturday or later in the day on sunday, both look better. 3 to 6 inches of hive wet snow. Temperatures will be marginally not quite cold, so what were looking at is snow. Its not big, fluffy, pretty flakes. Sloppy and slippery travel. Some of it will melt. Some of it will stick.
