02 COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday (05); Fatalities rise to 588

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that TWO (02) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Tuesday (Apr. 06), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 588. The details of the deceased are as follows: 01. A 70-year-old male from Bibila. He was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 virus while receiving treatment at Bibila Base Hospital and transferred to Homagama Base Hospital, where he died on 04.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Acute Renal Failure, Covid pneumonia, and Septicaemia. 02. A 47-year-old male from Mahaoya, Ampara. He was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 virus while receiving treatment at Maharagama Apeksha Hospital and transferred to Angoda Base Hospital, where he died on 05.04.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and terminal Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that THREE (03) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Thursday (Apr. 01), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 571. The details of the deceased are as follows: 01. A 80-year-old female from Katugastota. She died on 31.03.2021 while receiving treatment at Kandy National Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as lung infection and Covid pneumonia. 02. A 80-year-old male from Eheliyagoda. He was diagnosed as infected with the COVID-19 virus while receiving treatment at Eheliyagoda Base Hospital and transferred to Homagama Base Hospital, where he died on 31.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, sepsis, and acute kidney injury.

05 COVID-19 death on Monday (15); Fatalities rise to 532

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that FIVE (05) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Monday (Mar. 15), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 532. The details of the deceased are as follows: 01. An 86-year-old female from Jaffna. She died on 13.03.2021 while receiving treatment at Jaffna Teaching Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and blood poisoning. 02. A 76-year-old female from Gampaha. She was diagnosed as infected with the COVID-19 virus while receiving treatment at Gampaha District Hospital and transferred to IDH, where she died on 13.03.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as multiple organ dysfunction, Covid pneumonia, and acute diabetes.

LankaWeb – Five new COVID deaths from Western & Eastern provinces

Posted on March 12th, 2021 Courtesy Adaderana Five more COVID-related fatalities have been reported in Sri Lanka, Director General of Health Services confirmed today (March 12). The new development has pushed the death toll from the virus to 525. According to the Government Information Department, four of the death were reported in Western Province while the remaining death was from Eastern Province. One of the deceased is a 72-year-old female from Akkaraipattu in Eastern Province. She was transferred from Akkaraipattu Base Hospital to Mulleriyawa Base Hospital after being diagnosed with novel coronavirus infection. She passed away on Thursday (March 11) due to shock caused by blood poisoning, respiratory tract infection, COVID pneumonia and acute kidney infection.
