SL s COVID-19 death toll reach 430; 08 deaths on Thursday (18)

Share: COLOMBO (News 1st): The Director-General of Health Services confirmed that eight (08) COVID-19 deaths were reported in the country on Thursday (Feb. 18), raising Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 death toll to 430. The details of the deceased are as follows: 01. A 67-year-old female from Dematagoda. she died on 16.02.2021 at her residence. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and acute diabetes. 02. A 58-year-old male from Colombo 08. He died on 17.02.2021 while undergoing treatment at Methsiri Sewana Treatment Centre, Anuradhapura. The cause of death is mentioned as heart disease caused by Covid-19 infection, acute kidney damages and high blood pressure. 03. A 43-year-old male from Meegoda. He was transferred from Welisara Chest Hospital to Homagama Base Hospital, where he died on 16.02.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as respiratory failure due to bronchitis and Covid pneumonia.

The cause of death is cited as Covid-19 pneumonia and high blood sugar. 02. 58-year-old male from Colombo 08 who had passed away at the Maithri Sevana Treatment Center in Anuradhapura on February 17. The cause of death is reported as heart disease with Covid-19, serious kidney damage and high blood pressure.  03. 43-year-old male from Meegoda who had passed away at the Homagama Base Hospital on February 16 due to respiratory failure caused by Bronchitis and Covid-19 pneumonia.

Posted on February 14th, 2021 Courtesy Adaderana Total COVID-19 deaths reported in Sri Lanka climbed to 397 on Sunday (February 14) as seven more persons were confirmed to have fallen victim to the virus. According to the Department of Government Information, one of the deceased is an 85-year-old man from Gothatuwa area. He was transferred from a private hospital in Colombo to National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) where he passed away today. The cause of death was cited as COVID-19 pneumonia, blood poisoning and kidney disease. A 72-year-old female from Angoda area also died today due to shock from blood poisoning, COVID-19 pneumonia and complications of kidney disease. According to reports, she was transferred from Colombo National Hospital to Homagama Base Hospital after testing positive for the virus.
