At their special meeting Tuesday night, the Blairsville-Saltsburg School Board voted to approve head coaches for all sports for the next school year, but some names were approved that were not originally brought up on the agenda.
The board voted only to hire head coaches during last night’s meeting, and the board approved Jess Houser for football, James Buckes for volleyball, Scott Stuchal for Wrestling and Golf, Melissa Milanak for track and field, Hank Harsh for softball, and Mark Palmer for baseball. The two candidates that were not hired were those for boys and girls basketball, as those votes were outright rejected by the board majority vote. Later in the meeting, the board approved 6-3 to hire Rick Brown as the new girls basketball coach and Donnie Stitt as the boys basketball coach.
