Still only seeing really delays out of los angeles this morning and even then not that many. So, things do seem to be moving pretty well given the fact that this is supposed to be a record year for Holiday Travel. This seventh year in a row travel has increased. Its not your imagination if you think there are more people on the airplanes and the security lines. Weve seen a couple of different configurations here going on in these t. S. A. Lines. Right now this is pretty normal. Passengers are moving pretty steadily. Now, when the k9s are in operation, then its a little bit of a different scenario. They come back and forth and they sniff the shoes and the bags and those instances then people dont have to take off their shoes at security and it really does make things go a lot quicker. We ti

Caitlin and mike, thank you. 4 30 and breaking early this morning out of the district were checking out reports that a middle school flood overnight in southeast. The concern is over Kramer Middle School q street. Fox5 Melanie Alnwick is live on the scene with the latest in this story. Mel, what can you tell us . Reporter good morning, guys, still a lot of equipment on the scene here. We have d. C. Hazmat crews standing by and what youre seeing here is Washington Gas crews getting ready to go in with a digger into the school here. As you mentioned two hours going we got reports that was some kind of water main break and water in the the basement. Several feet were told and were also seeing emergency lights inside the school going off as well. One thing we noticed is strong smell of natural gas. What im told is that some of the water got into the boiler room and compromised some of the natural gas lines

And thats what weve been seeing across the d. C. Region. Weve been reporting on water main breaks across the reej yop. Wfsc respomd todd over 60 the last self days and its affecting schools in our area over in montgomery out county as well as fairfax county. And what happened was, over the twoweek winter break, these buses like the the ones behind me here, they have been sitting outside in the frigid temperatures for you know the last two weeks or so. And when students return to school yesterday some of these buses wouldnt even start. Some stalled and were told out of 8700 biss routes in county, 200 bus routes were affected and it left hundreds of students waiting outside in the cold for up to an hour. Remember it was in the low teens just like today. This morning except winds this morning and yesterday as well. Today theyll have extra hands on deck ready to help out. Street to porter, that is where they are working on that water main break at this point. But a significant amount of water here on this major thorofare. Were a little concerned about what that might mean as more traffic starts to come across this area. We have seen the d. C. Water crews bringing a little bit of salt and gradient just around one lane of this area but i feel like it needs a little bit more coverage at this point. I dont know exactly when this water main break began. It seems like its so new they havent even posted it on twitter or their web site yet as far as emergency outages. D. C. Water is working on two other water main breaks this morning. One on girard street northeast and one on 34th street in southeast. So, definitely a looks like theyve gotten on top of this one. If you may recall last week we talked about sometimes they have to prioritize these and sometimes they need to just shut the water off and wait until they can get crews but were seeing some be like this
