Hazmat crews standing by and what youre seeing here is Washington Gas crews getting ready to go in with a digger into the school here. As you mentioned two hours going we got reports that was some kind of water main break and water in the the basement. Several feet were told and were also seeing emergency lights inside the school going off as well. One thing we noticed is strong smell of natural gas. What im told is that some of the water got into the boiler room and compromised some of the natural gas lines and so Washington Gas is here now trying to work to shut off that gas. Hazmat crews really here standing think case anything were to happen but they dont believe it will. Certainly, whenever you deal with natural gas and a leak there could be safety issues for the crews. Thats why theyre here. We dont know yet as far as Washington Gas. We heard there was another water main break in the area. We have not seen any crews on the the scene yet looking for that and well keep looking for that as well. Looks like some major problems at this middle school. Theres 200 students in all at the middle school. We have not heard from d. C. Public schools yet. Its early in the morning. Good morning, guys, the number one issue theyre trying to take care of now is a gas leak. Washington gas youre on the scene. You can see the crews trying to sipt their rigs to start digging. Actually looks like they will be digging somewhere in the front of middle school near. This s all happened a little more than two hours ago when we got the alert there was a water main break and several feet of water were flooding basement and then appa apparently, some of that water got into the boiler room and that compromised one of the gas lines. That is why we have the gas leak here and we also have d. C. Fire here in the hazmat are needed for any of these issues that might pop up. Hard to say exactly how long it will take them to even get the gas line repaired and then of course we have the issue of all the water in the basement and we dont yet have a good idea from washington from the crews as to what the plan of action is for that.
