It happened on interstate 10 near paul springs. The bus was traveling towards los angeles from a casino and was nearly an hour into the trip. Survivors say the crash happened without warning. 44 passengers were onboard when the bus violently crashed into the back of a big rig tractor trailer along interstate 10 in Desert Hot Springs north of palm springs. When it hit the back of the big rig, the trailer, the trailer itself entered about 15 feet into the bus. So, you can see that it was a substantial impact. Investigators say the bus driver was killed. Many of the other victims were sitting towards the front of the bus, asleep when the crash happened. When rescuers arrived they found he mangled bus block all lanes of the freeway.
