LABUAN: The Hindu Sangam brought cheer to the Indian community here by distributing 100 food packages to Covid-19 stricken households.
Hindu Sangam Chairman Datuk Ramasamy Rengasamy said: “Deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Dr Santahara Kumar gave the allocation to make the exercise possible.”
Expressing thanks to the minister, Ramasamy said: “The food baskets were distributed based on categories such as Armed Forces personnel, senior citizens, OKUs, single parent, hawkers, those loss job and also covered the muslim and Sikh communities.”

The items comprised of basic food stuff such as rice, cooking oil, salt, sugar, noodles, species beverages, face masks and sanitisers gel.

PETALING JAYA: Lab-grown chicken has made a debut in a Singaporean restaurant after the country became the first to approve the sale of laboratory cultured meat.
The meat was served at 1880 Singapore, a private member’s club in Robertson Quay, on Saturday. The lab meat was produced by US start-up Eat Just, which was given the “first-in-the-world regulatory approval” by Singapore.
Senior lecturer at the Department of Food Sciences of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Dr Salma Mohamad Yusop said lab meat is cultured or in-vitro meat that is produced by tissue engineering.

The leaders from several religions in Malaysia agree that being vaccinated is important in keeping people safe and preventing the spread of diseases and epidemics, such as Covid-19.
Speaking to Bernama, several religious leaders opined that taking a vaccine is good practice to ensure an individual’s well being and safety, as well as that of the community and country as a whole.
Previously, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has said that the government has no plan to make taking the Covid-19 vaccine mandatory.
Instead, it will only be administered to those who voluntarily agree to take it.
