Jaipur, Aug 18 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday announced a financial assistance of Rs 15 crore to Himachal Pradesh where heavy rains and landslides have wreaked havoc.
The death toll in Himachal Pradesh flooding and landslides crossed 71 on Thursday as authorities peg the losses at Rs 7,500 crores. The aftermath of the rain in Himachal was felt in parts of Punjab too after three districts - Punjab s Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur and Rupnagar districts - were flooded following the release of excess water from Himachal s Bhakra and the Pong dams.
