Waldron man set for trial in child pornography case

HILLSDALE A Waldron man facing child pornography allegations is tentatively scheduled for jury trial Oct. 26.  Some details in the case against 31-year-old Joseph Matthew Cramer emerged at a preliminary examination hearing in March in 2B District Court, where his ex-wife and a police sergeant from Hillsdale City Police Department testified to establish probable cause that crimes were committed and that Cramer is responsible for the crimes.  His ex-wife, whose name is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim, said that in February 2020, she accompanied Cramer and one of his friends to Ohio in Cramer’s car to drop off the friend, when she noticed a phone on the floor board of the car. She asked whose phone it was, and neither said it was theirs. She powered it on and, after realizing the phone was not password-protected, began going through social media and pictures to try to identify the owner. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in trying to find 22-year-old Mark Moreno. Someone posted incorrect information on the Hillsdale County Sheriff Department’s Facebook page overnight that he had been located. That is not the case. Hillsdale Police and the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department reported on Saturday Moreno has been missing from his Hillsdale residence. He is described as being five-foot-nine, 130 pounds with curly brown hair.

HILLSDALE — Three people arrested Jan. 16 in connection to a home invasion and stabbing in the city of Hillsdale were arraigned Monday afternoon in the 2B District Court by Judge Megan Stiverson.Hillsdale City Police Chief Scott Hephner announced in a news release Tuesday that 22-year-old Brent Jacob Risner of Hillsdale, 20-year-old Brock Ian Adams of Pittsford and 20-year-old Maya Leigh VanBuskirk were all charged with first degree home invasion.VanBuskirk was also arraigned on one count
