Brentwood company to construct interchange as part of massive mixed-use development effort in Spring Hill
Brentwood-based Bell and Associates Construction has won a roughly $54 million contract with the state a deal that will provide Spring Hill and Thompson’s Station more direct access to Interstate 65 and allow future development June Lake to fully unfold.
The project includes the design and construction of a new interchange on I-65 and the extension of Buckner Road, between Buckner Lane and Lewisburg Pike in the eastern part of the city. The project is expected to be complete by May 2023.
In December 2018, the U.S. Department of Transportation awarded Spring Hill a $25 million grant to help pay for the project. In order to use those funds, the project will need to be fast-tracked. SPRING HILL As city staff searches for solutions following the resignation of its planning director and city engineer, the Board of Mayor and Aldermen is now tasked with finding a new city administrator.
During last month s regular meeting of the Municipal Planning Commission, planning director Steve Foote and city engineer Tom Wolfe announced they would be resigning from their respective positions. Soon after, city administrator Victor Lay announced he too would be leaving, taking a job as town manager of Nolensville. His last day is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 18.
Lay was first hired as Spring Hill s city administrator in October of 2009.
