Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana on Tuesday turned down the request for listing of appeals filed against the Hijab verdict of Karnataka High Court.
The Supreme Court will hear next week the appeals filed against the Hijab verdict of Karnataka High Court, which had upheld the right of educational institutions to ban wearing of hijab in college campus.
'This is one of the alarming signs in democracy and we should ensure that these kinds of anti-national forces don’t grow,' the Karnataka chief minister said on a video in which death threats were purportedly given to the three judges.
