Im interested in keeping them safe not only as a get on and off school buses but in keeping them safe in the streets as they go to school. It is true that school buses have a relatively safe safety record. It is also true that children are injured every day or every year in bus related crashes. More than, i believe, and most accidents, we owe it to our children, to these students to examine why these fatalities occur and what can be done to prevent them. There are school buses in my own district. Most take other modes of transportation, including walking, biking or riding in a car, going on public transportation. Dorian is expected to hit somewhere between florida and southern georgia on monday and could make landfall as a powerful category 4 storm. That would make it the strongest storm to hit floridas east coast since hurricane andrew in 1992. This ominous view from the International Space station shows the storm morphing into a monster. Chief meteorologist craig setzer of our miami station wfor is tracking dorians path. Well, the storm strengthened overnight, winds up to 105 miles an hour now, moving to the northwest at 12, expecting to continue because its over very warm waters. The wind shear very low.
