FM Qureshi appreciates China s support to Pakistan in fight against COVID-19

The Foreign Minister maintained that CPEC had a contributed to Pakistan’s national development.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday. During the meeting, views were exchanged on China-Pakistan bilateral relations, CPEC, 70th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations and vaccine cooperation between the two countries.
The Foreign Minister underscored that Pakistan and China were iron brothers. He highlighted that, with joint efforts of successive generations and leadership, this relationship had transformed into ‘All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.’ Both countries needed to further expand this relationship to realize closer China-Pakistan Community of Shared Future in New Era, he added.
2021 is a milestone for both the Communist Party of China and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf . It is not only the 100th anniversary of the founding of CPC, but also the 25th anniversary of the founding.

ISLAMABAD, Mar.10 (Gwadar Pro) - “CPEC is a transformational and a fiscally responsible project. Pakistan and China are firmly committed to the timely completion of CPEC projects and making it a High-Quality Demonstration Project of BRI”, this was underscored by Director General China Division, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu in a panel discussion titled “Upscaling the Economic Activities of CPEC: Opportunities and Challenges”, held at Institute of Regional Studies, Islamabad.
Chairing the panel discussion, Dr. Ishrat Hussian, former Governor State Bank and Advisor to the Prime Minister on Institutional Reforms and Austerity maintained that CPEC is misunderstood and misconstrued as a mere road project, when essentially it is a corridor. He said that investments in energy and infrastructure sectors have come through FDI, while the Chinese government has committed to providing grants of worth USD 1 billion for the socio-economic projects.
