Pakistan and China Commence 70th Anniversary Celebrations

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and the Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in an impressive ceremony on Monday formally commenced activities to celebrate 70 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and the People’s Republic of China.
The virtual ceremony was simultaneously held in Islamabad and Beijing and was attended by high-ranking officials from both sides.
“We pay tribute to the Chinese leadership which has done an incredible job in changing the lives and destiny of its people. We believe that President Xi Jinping’s leadership, at a momentous history, has greatly helped the Chinese nation achieve its national aspirations,” Qureshi underscored speaking on the occasion.

China Announces Providing COVID-19 Vaccine to Pakistan
Islamabad, January 22, 2021 (PPI-OT): During telephone conversation with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi informed that China will provide five hundred thousand doses of Sinopharm vaccine to Pakistan by the end of this month. This gesture by Beijing reaffirms depth and breadth of the ‘All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership’ between Pakistan and China.
State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi underscored that Beijing would also provide vaccines produced by CanSino and SinoVac to support Pakistan’s fight against the second wave of COVID-19. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi thanked State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi for China’s befitting gesture that once again demonstrated that it stood by Pakistani people in the hour of need.
