The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has now become the first Arab country to win Category B membership into the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Council. The win was the triumphant result of an election that included nominees from 11 leading countries in the international marine trade sector such as Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Brazil, Argentina, France and Australia. The declaration was made during the 30th General Assembly meeting, amid international praise for the UAE’s competitive advantages that has enabled the country to play a pivotal role in promoting the international maritime system and driving the growth of international maritime trade.

UAE Golden Jubilee Committee governs year-long grand celebrations marking 50 years of UAE
ABU DHABI, 16th March, 2021 (WAM) President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has declared 2021 Year of the 50th , in the UAE, as the nation celebrates its milestone Golden Jubilee. Year of the 50th officially starts on April 6th 2021 and lasts until March 31st 2022.
The declaration is coupled with the announcement of year-long initiatives, activities, and grand celebrations that will be governed by the UAE Golden Jubilee Committee under the chairmanship of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, with Her Highness Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as Deputy Chairwoman. The committee has members representing various federal and local departments.

Abdullah bin Zayed chairs Joint UAE-Bahrain Committee
ABU DHABI, 7th March, 2021 (WAM) H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said the rapid response shown by the UAE and Bahrain toward the fallout of the COVID-19 is a model to be emulated for cooperation between regional and international partners.
Sheikh Abdullah made the statements while co-chairing with Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr Abdulatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the 9th session of the Joint UAE-Bahrain Committee, which convened virtually today. The 9th session of the Joint UAE-Bahrain Committee is convening under exceptional circumstances that have contributed to enhancing collaboration between the two fraternal nations, Sheikh Abdullah said, adding that the UAE is looking forward to growing cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain in order to survive the current crisis.
