And at this event it is a major complex. Were here on the Army Heritage trail and one can find reenactors or living historians from all different time periods, ranging from the 17th century up to the present. My group, though, is here this weekend to discuss the 75th anniversary of the normandy invasion, which is taking place this summer. And we thought it certainly fitting to commemorate that event. And us putting on these old uniforms, wearing old equipment, it certainly gives us a better perspective and appreciation

I name is al kose, im one of the volunteers here. Were going to talk about the american m4 medium tank. Probably one of the most prolific tanks of the Second World War. This particular example was one of the earlier versions. This is the m4a3 tank. This is armed with a 75 millimeter main gun. If we move to the commanders weapons station here, it also has the caliber 50 machine gun up top where the commander is. And it also has two m19, 1930 caliber machine guns. One is mounted with the main gun and the other is mounted here up in the front of the tank. And this one is manned by the battle gun. If you look at the battle gun, he can move it up and down. He can show you the way the ball turret works. This has the workings of the guns, his ammunition back there and a catch bag to catch the shell casings as they come out. If yo
Im the curator here at Washington Crossing historic park in pennsylvania. Today is a very exciting day. We are doing a reenactment of George Washingtons crossing of the Delaware River on christmas night 1776. What happened here is actually one of the most unexpected and daring military maneuvers of the American Revolution. And the story is washington and the Continental Army after having lost battled in new york and retreating across new jersey came into bucks county in the beginning of december 1776. They encamped in several locations around this area including the Thompson Neely house which is also part of our park. And things are pretty desperate at this point for washington and the patriot cause. The Continental Army really needed a win. Washington was afraid that the british were going to invade philadelphia and take over the capitol and he really knew that what he needed was a bold, bold action. After meeting with his war council they made the decision that on christmas night the
