FORMER senior MDC Alliance official Lillian Timveos, who in February defected to Zanu PF, has graduated from the ruling party’s Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology.
Speaking after her graduation, the ex-lawmaker said she deeply regretted wasting her time and resources in opposition politics and was now an excited member of the ruling party.
Timveos, who was the MDC Alliance deputy treasurer before her surprise resignation, said Zanu PF was a democratic party and encouraged other opposition members to dump their political formations and join a party that has “liberation war credentials”.
“I joined Zanu PF as it is a stable party. The opposition in this country is fragmented. They are confused. 21 years down the line they do not know who their leader is,” she said.

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) MORE than 40 Zimbabwean youths in neighbouring South Africa have enrolled at the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology aimed at instilling patriotism among youngsters.
A three-day programme that ended in Kempton Park east of Johannesburg yesterday also provided a platform for the ruling parties of South Africa and Zimbabwe (ANC and Zanu-PF) to solidify their decades-long relations.
“As ANC, we are here in solidarity with the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology simply because we share same principles, same history, same aims and objectives,” said African National Congress (ANC) Greater Tshwane Regional Secretary, Ratshi Mashamba, in an interview with CAJ News Africa.
