You have new information on what may have caused this crash, christian. Reporter good morning, gasia and dave. We are standing in the number 3 lane on the bridge, not the kind of place that you get to stand often. This jack knife struck, closing down four of the eastbound lanes on the bridge. Were joined by lou from the california Highway Patrol patrol. If you could explain what happened. It was heading eastbound before colliding with the wall. Yes. We received a report as you indicated there was a big rig that had jackknifed on the bridge. We arrived on scene and were able to talk to the driver. Fortunately he was not hurt. He was walking about. Indications are that he was approaching the bridge and somehow lost control of his truck, struck the wall. Rode the wall for a bit and then became jackknifed as you can see, blocking all left three lanes of traffic. Amazing that the driver was able to walk away from this. The biggest concern for everybody on the scene, one of the 50gallon tank

Highway 92. Sky fox was right overhead. You can see the burned out shell of the big rig. Right now only one eastbound lane of 92 is open. This is near the 101. It happened just before 10 00. More than two hours ago. Then less than an hour ago, the chp tweeted that cleanup is under way and other lanes will open around 1 00 this afternoon. The other top story we have been following for you throughout the day is the rain. Right. Lets go to meteorologist Rosemary Orozco who is tracking the storm with how much more are we going to get, rosemary. Yeah much the rain has tapered off considerably. We will get to the radar. I have a sixhour time lapse on this. At 6 00, you could see, wow, it was really coming down. Most people got caught up in it during the morning commute. If i put it in still motion to show you what is going on right now, you can see mostly cloudy skies. Im sure a little bit of drizzle falling off and on below the radar beam. Off. It almost felt like it was going to and then boom. Many of the other passengers watched in horror there on the tarmac as that plane went up in flames. What happened in chicago is extremely rare but it is a scenario that Emergency Response crews spend a lot of Time Training for. We talked to sfos spokesperson about what happened at ohare. Any time an event like this happens at any airport in the u. S. , we all taig interest in it. We all want to learn from it. We all want to understand what happened. We want to know the details. Were still gathering that information. Theres a couple of important things that both airlines and airports train to that supports events like today. Number one is, cabin crews on board aircraft train to evacuate aircraft very quickly. The goal in most cases is 90 seconds. We are talking about the history of Death Investigation, the evolution of the system of Death Investigation in the United States, which really matures and comes to age in the dawn of the 20th century. It is a 19th century story of how Death Investigation becomes Forensic Science and ultimately becomes the csi series. Now we all have a pretty lurid sense of Death Investigations provided by local news, right . This graphic is everywhere, i found a million of these. Always the same with the police tape and the chalk outlines. So we have a very lurid sense of Death Investigation. , it leadsf it bleeds school of journalism in the United States. I want to take the evolution of this system very seriously and talk about how it developed over time. Starting with the historical importance.
