The folks at Riding House Cafe in Fitzrovia have launched Soul Ride, a delivery service of delicious, Caribbean comfort-food. Headed up by executive chef Henry Omereye, alongside Chef Martin Kanu, they’ve created 12 different themed meal boxes packed with a whole host of traditional Riding House dishes.
From brunches, suppers, cocktails and everything in between – Soul Ride’s the perfect first-class ticket to the most decadent weekend in.

The question is what’s NOT in the box? The Weekender Box provides a little something of everything, and quite frankly, we’re transported right back to one of our Grandma’s famous summer BBQ’s for the most extravagant bottomless buffet.
The answers took us on an incredible gastronomical tour across the world, from the paladars of Cuba to the comnforting soups of Moscow, from the windy beaches of Tenby to the sizzling sidewalks of Thailand. Join us in dreaming of meals lost during the last 12 months, and of many more to come.

I’d like to get my whole family together at one table and serve them my sticky spicy ribs with maple yogurt dressing. I’ll make a huge platter of them and lay them out on the table ‘feasting style’ for all 12 of us to dive in, eat, talk, and laugh together. My recipe has changed slightly over the years but they’ve always been a family favourite. They’re really messy but so good and a true crowd pleaser.

One person who never wimps out with a cautious spatular turn is Brad Jolly. The Brisbane-based chef lives up to the PMA of his name by holding the Guinness World Record for the most pancakes flipped in one minute.
Back in February 2012, Jolly flipped a pancake 140 times in 60 seconds at Martin Place, Sydney. Many have tried but failed to beat the figure, meaning Jolly has held the record for an impressive nine years.

Pancakes on a Sunday morning breakfast is a weekly ritual here at home. My easy pancake recipe also includes oats, which are full of vitamins, antioxidants and fibre. We usually add half a punnet of blueberries but if these aren’t to your taste, banana is a great substitute.
