Of the Bakken Pipeline need to use eminant domain to secure a path for the project, its apparently ok with Iowa Governor terry branstad. That project, also known as the Dakota Access pipeline. Is upsetting several siouxland farmers whos land is needed for the pipeline across the state. Eminant domain allows the state to take private property for public use with financial payment to the land owner. Brandstad says theyre not taking the land away. Theyre simply putting a pipeline under it. I think eminant doman should be used only sparingly. I think there are times appropriate, so dont statement that eminant domain should never be used. An increase in car thefts has sioux city on high alert and a preview of tonights Country Music awards all this morning. Jessica rae northwest iowa voters hit the polls yesterday to elect mayors and City Council Members to represent siouxland sioux city has about 47thousand registered voters. But less than 3 thousand people cast a ballot in this election. Woodbury county auditor pat gill says, those numbers werent suprising because he wasnt expecting a large turnout. But after a day of voting, it was mayor bob scott. Who was elected to another four year term after running un opposed. He collected. Two thousand. And 87 votes. Scott. Says he will not run for reelection. So during his last term. He wants to focus on creating more opportunities for unger generatitis.
