Lightning close call this morning was in presidio in San Francisco. Look at this eucalyptus tree that was nearly split down the middle. Grounds keepers were working yards away in the cemetery when it happen. This blast was about three times as bright as the sun. I looked over and lightning just obliterated the tree. It totally destroyed it. Reporter the groundskeeper was not hurt, but he said it was so loud that his ears were ringing for a long time afterward. We probably saved the babys life. The fast action taken moments after a baby was born in the streets of san francisco. Good afternoon, i am tori. A woman gave birth and the mother and baby are both in the hospital right now. How quickthinking officers helped to save the babys life. They are being credited with saving the babys life. It as touch and go situation. They are Young Fathers here out of the bay view station s we werent able to speak to them first hand. As you imagine, they had an adrenaline charged experience and at home resting. We are hoping to hear from them over the next couple of days. We did hear from the acting captain and this is what he has to say about the officers actions. They made extraordinary decisions and right decisions and got the small child to the hospital and saved the babys life. If they are not heros, i dont know who is. Reporter here is what happened. The scene and theyre trying to piece together what happened this apartment building. They stated that a woman in her 20s woke up to find a man and side of her apartment or around 2 20 a. M. If they stated that she screamed at the suspect fled the scene. They have no word on whether not she was the only one inside of her apartment. She is ok and she is getting interviewed as a Police Station. At this point police are treating this as a burglary but they are not ruling anything out and the possibility that this was a sexual assault. This is a serious crime and it happens very often. As far as we are concerned is very critical. As far as the search goals they have crews and surrounding areas who was looking for a man who is wearing dark clothing. This is a very vague description. They do have canine units on scene and this did not lead them to anything. They are relying on anything that the victim can give us. When we get this information will bring it to you right away.
