Kevin begins, “Any time you re in a warzone, there s a possibility that anything could happen. So, whatever feelings or whatever fears I might have had, I had to suppress that and make sure that I be strong for my soldiers. If I had to die so they can come back to their families, then I was willing to make that sacrifice.” For Army Sergeant 1st class Kevin, placing the warriors who served under him first was always his priority. He deployed multiple times to war zones like Bosnia, Albania, and Iraq each time, leaving behind his wife Richa and their children.

Air Force Family Flies by Faith

U.S Airman Amber enjoys her job at Vandenburgh Air Force Case in central California. As a single mom, raising two daughters on an E-4 salary isn’t easy.  “I did the best that I could with what I had. I did a lot of hoping and trusting God that things would be provided,” Amber said. Amber’s finances got even tighter when she took in her two sisters when the pandemic hit. Their mom had cancer and was considered high risk for infection.   Amber says, “The stress of having my two sisters going out places as things started to open up, she couldn t risk having them to come back and give her Covid.”
