Inside the metro train. This transcript shows that people were frightened and calling 911 and coughing and saying that people were suffocating in the train and begging for dispatchers to rescue them. Very fearful. When you read through the transcripts, you see how frightening it was for people stuck inside the train cars in that smoking tunnel and as we see from the video, the smoke was filling up in the train cars. Winds are gusting 20 to 25 miles an hour. So we have all of these counties in blue still under the windchill advisory. Its in effect until noon for windchills minus 5 to minus 20 including all of virginia including the metro area and most of maryland and the eastern shore.
Temperatures right now low to mid Single Digits just about everywhere. Cambridge is the only one at 10. Oakland, maryland this is not the windchill the temperature there is 8 below zero. Shenandoah valley temperatures there are in the low to mid Single Digits. And winds are still blustery. Current kchs are minus 5 to minus 15. And these are gradually going to be improving as we get into the rest of the day. So headlines this morning, frigid still very cold this afternoon. And then saturday snow, sleet and icing. A look at when these winds will be diminishing, thats at 5 11. Want to mention this once more clara barton parkway is now open once again. Megan mcgrath on the scene.
