Kempczinski said he had asked for a review of workplace-safety policies and programs across the global system by four members of the brand’s executive team: Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s USA; Ian Borden, president of McDonald’s international; Heidi Capozzi, global chief people officer; and Katie Fallon, chief global impact officer.
“Far from shying away from them, in the case of the sexual harassment allegations detailed in the ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ story, I want to recognize these individuals and acknowledge their courage,” Kempczinski said. “Any person who steps forward to report concerns or issues deserves our utmost respect.”

Charlie Strong, McDonald s US chief field officer one of the 10 top executives in the company s US business announced his retirement in January, the company confirmed to Insider.
Strong began his career at McDonald s more than 50 years ago, starting work in a restaurant in western Massachusetts in November 1970 when he was still in college. He moved his way up the ranks over the course of five decades, becoming a zone president for the company in 2014.

Word travels fast within the massive web of franchisees, employees, and suppliers that make up McDonald s. So when a 2019 marketing presentation showed a burger recipe made with coon cheese, it wasn t long before Jim Byrd, a Black McDonald s operator who owns two locations in Tennessee, was texted a photo from a fellow franchisee.
Workers at franchised McDonald s locations in St. Louis, Los Angeles, and Kansas City, Missouri, have filed lawsuits against the company in recent weeks alleging sexual assault and harassment. The most recent case was filed Thursday morning by a woman named Delisha Rivers.
Rivers alleges that a manager attempted to pressure her into sexual acts in exchange for cash and a raise when she was a shift leader at a McDonald s in early 2019. The complaint says she began facing retaliation at work after rejecting his advances.
The single mother of five said she struggled to find a way to contact McDonald s to report harassment. According to Rivers, she called multiple numbers first connected to corporate, then to different field districts attempting to report what she saw as targeted retaliation. None were able to offer her assistance.
