that rick perry said he could cross. so mitt romney this time, his second big fund raising quarter still has more than rick perry, that s going to be a tough narrative for rick perry. he was in texas getting all of his low-hanging fruit money, the easier checks. the people were waiting to support him. didn t have the full three months. but it was very important for him to make a big start. in the next couple of days, that s what people will be watching. michele bauchmann says she s going to disclose her money at the last possible day they can wait until october 15th. she says she s going to. it might be a hint of how much money she has. and money will be a big factor for chris christie. we re told that chris christie needs to decide within the week whether he s going to go. and his backers, these people you ve been talking about. hedge funders and others, they ve promised him that they will form a super pack for him. an outside organization that can take unlimited funds to give him a b
into the growing divide and perhaps not only uncertainty but anger in our society about the moral crisis that you brought? i think it absolutely does. then you have to think about it in moral terms from the beginning. i would love to hear that because that s what i think it is all about ultimately. yes, people want to feel confidence that they can hire and grow their businesses. they also want to feel like they re being treated fairly. absolutely. find balance. we ve talk abouted the income divide that continues to grow. but it s also a question of what do you invest that money in, mike? and how do you use your tax code? do you use your tax code to encourage, again, exotic instruments on wall street that allow hedge funders to become billionaires many times over and pay a much lower tax rate? or do you go ahead and change those tax rules not just to punish them, but to start encouraging the right type of behavior and building manufacturing bases for working class americans in
recommending it, liking it and joining in. i think there s no question it was the right kind of thing for them to do. and, again, this is a president who tapped into that in 2008 and he can now go back very interesting to see how the president over the last week, has gone back to some of these traditional areas of his base, the coalition he put together in 2008, hoping he s reaching your non-traditional voters, younger voters through facebook and as well doing some of the regional things, going to nevada, going to states where he wants to try to tap into the same demographics, minority population, younger populations to try to keep those states in his column. donny and andrew, let me talk to you guys quickly about something, about the president s relationship with wall street. i ask you two guys, because, andrew, you know the community so well and donny, you have a lot of friends that work on wall street, a lot of hedge funders. about a year ago, you told me,
