The streets were blocked off by Oakland Police after a man left a backpack outside the building at about 10 30 this morning. That man then went inside the courthouse and was confronted by sheriffs deputies who asked why he left the backpack there. Authorities say he got into a struggle with deputies and attacked them. He was detained and will be placed on a psychiatric hold. As for his backpack the Sheriffs Office did not want to take any chances. Skybox was overhead at the bomb squad suited up to examine the backpack. It turned out to be explosive and the all clear was given at about 12 back 30. The man does not appeared 12 30.
