MAYFIELD, Ky. Leaders from Osmundson Mfg. Co. of Perry, Iowa, broke ground on the company’s new multimillion-dollar manufacturing facility in Hickory that will produce faming disc blades and create 80 quality jobs over the coming years.
The company’s investment includes the purchase of nearly 35 acres to build a 150,000-square-foot facility. It's expected to create 80 jobs over the coming years.
Researchers say Canada needs 30,000 new immigrants to either start up their own farms, or take over existing ones, to avoid a looming labour crisis in the agriculture industry. Some worry, however, current programs aren't set up to attract or support that workforce.
