He pulled out a gun and shot him at pointblank range in the thigh and tried to shoot the officer in the face and the gun jammed and the officer got the weapon away and subdued the suspect. And i said are you okay . Are you okay . And he said im shot. He said training kicked in and we shouted for a tourniquet and one officer had it in his vest. And it was applied. And that may have saved the officers life. The trauma doctor advised us if not for the tourniquet and the Rapid Response of getting him into trauma as quickly as they did his situation would be worse.
