A month ago Hyundai said its 2022 Ioniq 5 electric hatch would be revealed in February. Now we know the date. The Ioniq 5 is inspired by the Hyundai 45 concept, which was itself styled after the 1974 Pony hatch. The Ioniq 5 is the first production car riding on Hyundai/Kia’s new modular EV platform, called E-GMP. Hyundai says it plans to unveil the first of its new Ioniq lineup, the Ioniq 5, next week, February 23. The 5 is the Korean automaker’s first production model to sit atop its new modular electric platform (E-GMP).
