Kerala government has responded to the Centre's query regarding the updation of coronavirus (COVID-19) data on an everyday basis. A delay could lead to discrepancies in overall data released by the Indian Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
After India reported a 90 per cent jump in Covid cases in a single day, the health ministry on Monday asked Kerala to provide updated COVID-19 data daily.
The Centre suggested that the sudden increase in cases was a result of bulk back-reporting after April 13, which means a gap of five days till Monday.
State Health Minister Veena George on Tuesday blamed the Centre for propagating false things that Kerala has stopped updating daily Covid figures."Such a thing has not happened at all and we all are surprised on how the Centre can say such .
To set up own medical college in Wayanad
The State government has dropped the proposal to take over the private medical college hospital DM Wayanad Institute of Medical Sciences (DM WIMS).
A high-level meeting convened by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan here on Thursday decided to find government-owned land in Wayanad to set up a new government medical college.
The government had earlier engaged a committee headed by the Chief Secretary to examine a proposal to take over the DM WIMS and to convert it into a government medical college. However, the suggestions put forth by the DM Educational Research Foundation, which own the DM WIMS, were impractical and unacceptable.
