Brian all right. More than a half million are without power this hour. We will continue to move everything forward. In alabama, louisiana, and mississippi, they all have declared states of emergency. We just need the prompter to go forward. I cant anticipate what actually is going to be there we continue to go, a deputy and his wife are moving six People Killed in mississippi. Deputy Robert Ainsworth a he died a hero shielding his wife. Ainsley woman rescued after getting trapped in that car right there, and unfortunately its not over yet. That storm system is on the move and janice dean is tracking all of this. Janice in the wake of the coronavirus, easter weekend thi. Janice yeah. Unfortunately, ainsley, we still have several hours to go with severe storms. We have had over 50 reports of tornadoes over parts of the south and the gulf coast. If there is any good news, we had a lot of warning on these storms. The Storm Prediction Center said this is the area thats going to potentially
Spring break spread hit a lot of people east of the mississippi river. You know, its something i dont understand. You have people like senator kennedy, and a lot of other trump supporters, and a lot of americans, rightly, were so offended and shocked and upset, like i was, when 3,000 americans died at the hands of islamic terrorism on 9 11. Were at 30,000. Were at ten times that. Because of the communist Chinese Government lying, and their incompetence. The american president lying and his incompetence. Continued incompetence. And the incompetence continues. The World Health Organizations incompetence. Yes, i will say that. Donald trump may be the wrong person to criticize the w. H. O. , but others in congress should. Attach strings to the funding. We shouldnt cut the funding for the w. H. O. You know, willie, i dont even this is a guy i think he went to oxford. A big john kerry supporter. A man about town, obviously. Very, very erudite, or however they say it in oxford. He says in his
The epicenter of the world remain so as cases near 162,000. Thats almost 9,000 more cases than spain, the country with the second highest amount of patients. Hi, everybody. Its going to be a huge show when you see our roster of guests, especially. What i notice, too, a lot of the models that just use the numbers that they were given projected a lot of things more severely than it actually turned out. For example, in california, they have done an extraordinary job to date. They thought they were going to have 4800 beds needed. They actually only needed 2200. Louisiana they said we are going to need 6400 beds. Right now they only need 1700. For new york, as you know, Governor Cuomo constantly saying he needs more beds. He needs only 15,000 beds. The projection was 58,000. Continue to do what we are doing. Because the numbers and the models are going in the right direction; steve. Steve thats right, brian. You know, when people during the show today, we are going to talk about how some in
Logically say that if you had a process that was ongoing, and you started mitigation earlier, you could have saved lives. Obviously, no one is going to deny that. But what goes into those kinds of decisions is complicated. But, youre right. I mean, obviously, if we had, right from the beginning, shut everything down, it may have been a little bit different. But there was a lot of pushback about shutting things down back then. Dr. Anthony fauci essentially confirming a key part of a deeply reported, new expose from the New York Times, which shows how key federal agencies, the state department, the National Security council, and the pentagon struggled to get the president to take timely action, despite several early warnings. We will speak with one of the Investigative Reporters behind that story in a few minutes. Youre right. Those warnings came, actually, in early january. You know, the president can tweet didnt act until march. And retweet false tweets that i think got the dates wrong
We have a tremendous number of people that have to come into government. And now more so than ever before because of the virus and the problem. We have to do it. And we have to do whatever we have to do. Earlier last month, you were in the oval office talking about now is not the time for partisanship. How will that act lower the partisanship in this town and could it potentially hinder the ability to get something done on coronavirus . Well, it is look, its been a very partisan government for a long period of time, not just this administration. You can go back into the last two administrations. Youve seen a lot of partisanship. But i have a very strong power. Id rather not use that power. But we have way over a hundred people that we badly need in this administration that should have been approved a long time ago and one of them is the head of voice of america. If you look at what theyre doing, and what theyre saying about our country, its a disgrace. The people that are running that.
