Smoke pushed back into the bay area. Now the latest on a Traffic Alert on 880. Yeah, its a couple of rs tangled up here and traffic is still slow. They had all lanes blocked though northbound 880 right at da toe that. The good news is theyve opened upmost of them. They are though keeping at least one or two of these slow lanes the right lanes closed until they completely clear everything off the roadway. Looks like there may be some debris in the road as well. So caltrans crews are also on scene. So a bit of a slow ride working your way along 880 for the early start to your ride. If you are headed there, just a headsup. Expect the brake lights out of fremont and gets a little bit better as you go to more in the union city area. If you are headed towards 680 or 238 you can use that, those are free flowing both directions. Westbound 580, a busy ride already out of the Altamont Pass. Were seeing our slowest spot right around Mountain House. From 2035 and it stays slow to north flynn. Anne

Here is a list of the schools that are closed, Bennett Valley union school district, Kenwood School district, no Distance Learning, Rincon Valley Union High Scho

I am at the motor lodge along lincoln avenue and behind me, we have watched glowing fires disappear, looking east near the silverado trail. Hopefully, that is some good news. We are waiting for the latest from cal fire once the sun comes up. However the weather conditions are pretty good for firefighting. It is a lot cooler compared to yesterday. Not a lot of wind to speak of but the official count is 113 structures destroyed and that number could go up as firefighters explore the areas that have already burned. By the afternoon, the entire city population of calistoga, 5300, was being evacuated. The fire had crested the hill where they are. People had to evacuate immediately. We got back to the house a couple weeks ago and we were evacuated for 17 days and there we go again. It is dad. Those evacuation orders are in effect in napa and sonoma encompassing about 70,000 people. No idea when they will be able to return
