Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church, has said that the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity reflects that through respecting each other’s cultures and traditions, “we are called upon to develop Fraternity as a shield against hatred, violence, and injustice”.
ABU DHABI, 4th February, 2022 (WAM) Archbishop Edgar Peña Parra, Substitute of the Secretariat of State at the Vatican, inaugurated the new Apostolic Nunciature in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth. The event marks a new stage in diplomatic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Vatican.
The inauguration was also attended by Omar Saif Ghobash, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Cultural and Public Diplomacy, Alya Mohamed Almehrezi, Assistant.
ABU DHABI, 3rd February, 2022 (WAM) The UAE will celebrate the International Day of Human Fraternity tomorrow, designated by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly on an initiative by the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt to make 4th February an annual occasion to encourage solidarity and unity between peoples and promote the values of tolerance.
The occasion constitutes the UN’s recognition of the UAE’s efforts to promote the values of coexistence and tolerance among followers of different religions.

ABU DHABI, 27th January, 2022 (WAM) The Vatican has stressed that the UAE is a leading model of global human solidarity, and its humanitarian initiatives go beyond the limits of geography and encourage pioneering examples that promote peaceful coexistence, tolerance and peace in the whole world.
This was stated during a phone call between H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican's Secretary of State.
Parolin expressed his solidarity with the UAE.
