The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has summoned streaming platform Amazon Prime Video following complaints that Hindu gods and goddesses have been ridiculed in the web series Tandav .
Additionally, an FIR has also been registered at Lucknow s Hazratganj Kotwali against Amazon Prime s India head of original content Aparna Purohit, Tandav s director Ali Abbas Zafar, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, and writer Gaurav Solanki and others for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments.

The Uttar Pradesh Police have filed a first information report against the makers of Amazon Prime series
Tandav as well as a top official of the streaming service for allegedly hurting religious sentiments, ANI reported on Monday. A team of four police personnel left for Mumbai to investigate the matter.
The FIR named the director of the series Ali Abbas Zafar, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, writer Gaurav Solanki and Amazon Prime’s India Head of Originals Aparna Purohit. It was filed at the Hazratganj Kotwali police station in Lucknow.

New Delhi [India], January 19 (ANI): Taking cognisance of the concerns expressed by viewers against his Amazon Prime Video-based show Tandav, filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar on Monday extended apologies through an official statement.
Zafar s debut web-series Tandav had been mired in controversy since its release as several viewers said the content hurt religious sentiments.
The Sultan filmmaker shared the official statement from the cast and crew of Tandav on Twitter and wrote Our sincere apologies along with it.
Through the statement, Zafar shared that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had informed him about a large number of viewers filing petitions against the show.
