The following is a statement from Kate Triggiano, the incumbent borough councilperson who is being challenged by Bruce Maida and Jacqueline Sturdivant. Triggiano’s running mate is incumbent councilperson Hazim Yassin.

Former Democratic Elected Official Endorse Challengers
Marking a milestone moment in the Municipal Committee’s history, the Red Bank Democratic Organization has overwhelmingly endorsed their official nominees Jacqueline Sturdivant and Bruce Maida for election in the upcoming Democratic Primary race for Borough Council.
Among the former and current Borough elected officials throwing their weight behind the Red Bank Democrat’s nominees are:
Former Mayor Edward J. McKenna, Jr., former Council Presidents Arthur V. Murphy, III and Sharon Lee, former Council Members Michael R. DuPont and Juanita Lewis, and Councilmen Edward J. Zipprich and Michael K. Ballard.

RED BANK – Four Red Bank Democrats will be involved in a contested primary election on June 8 as they seek their party’s nomination to run for two Borough Council terms in November.
Two Republicans are seeking their party’s nomination to run for the borough’s governing body in the Nov. 2 general election. The GOP primary on June 8 will be uncontested
According to the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office, the four Democrats who are seeking two nominations in the June 8 primary election are incumbent council members Kate Triggiano and Hazim Yassin, and challengers Bruce Maida and Jacqueline Sturdivant.
