Mr stone had been due to start a three year and four month prison sentence for lying under oath during the investigation into russian interference in the 2016 us election. Now, he hinted during the 2016 president ial Election Campaign that he was in touch through an intermediary with the wikileaks founderjulian assange, and boasted that he was knowledgeable about the release to wikileaks of thousands of e mails hacked from the server of the Democratic National committee.
