Stuart Gould is going to get his wish in one of his final track events at Tri County. The Vikings’ standout senior sprinter wanted to bring teammates with him to the MHSAA state track finals before the season began. He had big dreams to bring more than one person wearing Tri County running gear to Forest Hills Eastern’s Hawk Stadium for the Division 2 finals.

Stuart Gould ran off the track at Goodin-Parker Field during a practice, beaming with pride and confidence. Next to his teammate and good friend, Ian Boden, Gould flexed for the camera something he and his Tri County teammates have grown accustomed to from their wildly successful football season.
At first glance, the Tri County track and field program looks like a successful bunch. A lot of kids, running hard, running together, cheering each other on, working independently under the general direction of their coaches. On a deeper examination, the Vikings don’t just have the look of a successful team they walk the walk, too. That success was quantified in a few different ways last June when Stuart Gould ended his junior season with a memorable 49-second sprint around the track at Forest Hills Eastern’s Hawk Stadium when he won a state championship in the 400-meter dash.
