Hawai'i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts and state coordinator, Honolulu Theatre for Youth, are pleased to announce that Tasha Kanoa is the 2022 Hawai'i Poetry Out Loud Champion. Tasha, 12th grade, represented Mid-Pacific School of the Arts in Honolulu and won over a competitive field of 11 students representing high schools on Kaua'i, Maui, O'ahu, and Hawai'i Island.
Honolulu Theatre for Youth (HTY) is excited to announce the world premiere of ʻImi Ā Loaʻa: Search and Find created by Moses Goods, Inamona Theatre Company, and the HTY Ensemble. The show is an all new multimedia theatrical experience featuring live actors, augmented reality technology, original music, and artwork by Native Hawaiian artist, Solomon Enos.
This self-portrait, which she entitled The Gilded Fly, addresses the challenges presented to her in 2021, beginning with a world pandemic and continuing most recently with breast cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy and a double mastectomy.
